You might have seen this Kuzhi Paniyaram or Appe Pan used by your mother or grandmother in the kitchen for making breakfast. The Paniyaram pan will become your favourite utensil in the kitchen once you start using them in your everyday cooking. It is interesting to see how this pan is called differently in different places like Appam-patra Pan, Paddu Pan, Unniappam Pan, Aebleskiver Pan, Puff Pancake Pan and Paniyaram Pan.

This paniyaram pan a typical south indian chettinad dish, paniyarams are sweet or spiced dumplings poured on the paniyarakkal which gives a taste that is out of the world. Among that everyday breakfast in South India. Paniyaram turns out crispy on the outside and tender inside. You will find 12 cavities at the paniyara kadai, which might be ideal for a healthy dinner.  

Since this pan is made of pre-seasoned cast iron, food cooked in this pan doesn’t interact with the chemicals, but instead increases the iron content in the food being cooked in it. It also heats up faster, thus requiring less time to cook the paniyaram evenly. You can easily clean and stack it with the rest of your pans and pots at home. Also, cast iron is meant to be durable ,sturdy and will last long. Moreover, the pan will not suffer from bends and cracks.

Pre-Seasoned Pan is ready-to-use right out of the box :

To provide you with a ready to use cast-iron paniyaram pan, all our cast-iron cookware pass through factory pre-seasoning stage in which natural cold pressed oil is used on these high head allowing the polymers to create an initial layer of seasoning. This one factory seasoned layer is equivalent 10-15 rounds of normal home seasoning. The normal cast iron seasoning we create at home is attained when the fats and oils used in cooking is collected on the cast iron.

This makes our cast iron cookware completely ready to be used straight out of the box. No initial seasoning is required. However; in order to maintain the factory-seasoned cast iron layer you need to season it from time to time. Factory seasoning is just a kick-start to your cookware’s seasoning life. Not to forget that seasoning is an ongoing course. If you want your cast iron to maintain a perfect black, non-stick patina, then get started with the cooking. Regular use and proper maintenance is the key to a coveted black non-stick surface.

Dual Handle :

The dual handle design provides great control and easy lift. No matter where this pan is used or stored, the dual handle design reduces its footprint to save space while providing a good grip. These handles are part of the actual cast iron mold—no seams, welds, or joints. So you can move from stovetop to oven to grill to table and back again, all with a steady hand.

How to start using your Trilonium Cast-Iron / Carbon Steel Cookware ?

Your Trilonium cookware is already Triple-Seasoned with natural oils. You do not need to season it all over again. All you have to do is, maintain the seasoning. Below are the steps on how to go about it.

TilCrust™

All our Cast-Iron / Carbon Steel cookware is seasoned with natural cold-pressed EDIBLE VEGETABLE oils. It acts like a naturally nonstick coating.

The seaoning needs to be maintained as per our instruction manual so that your pan remains nonstick.

the seasoning oil that we use in our cookware is a proprietory mixture of natural cold-pressed vegetable oils baked onto the surface of our cookware at a specific temperature for a specific time. We call it TILCRUST™.

TILCRUST™ requires a bit of easy maintainance.

Quick wash with a mild soap and pat dry.

Use a regular dishwashing soap. Scrub the surface of the pan gently.

Do not use a metal scrubber.

Do not use wash in a dishwashing machine.

Saute, finely chopped onions along with cooking oil.

Coat the entire surface of the pan with cooking oil Using a tissue or a lint free kitchen towel.

Place your pan on your burner on your burner for 1-2 mins on medium flame.

Saute, finely chopped onions along with 2-3 tb. spoons of cooking oil in your Trilonium pan for 10-12 mins on a high flame until The onions Blacken.

Allow the pan to cool down for 30 mins.

After step 2. Allow the pan to rest for 30 mins. on your stovetop along with the blackened onions.

Remove the blackened onions.

Remove the burnt onions.

Do not wash your pan yet.

Hurray !!! Now your pan Is ready to use.

  • 1. Drying the pan.

    Use a mild dishwashing soap to wash your pan and then pat it until fully dry. Use a dry cloth. Ensure there are no droplets of water on the surface of the pan.

  • 2. Coat with cooking oil.

    Place the pan on your stovetop and heat it up again to get rid of water droplets and moisture. Then, apply a coat of oil all over its surface.

  • 3. Storing the pan.

    Ensure that your Trilonium pan is completely dry.

    Always store in a dry kitchen shelf.
